Anybody that currently has contact with our youth
or would like to be
active with our youth, are required to become Safe Environment trained.
The Safe Environment program is the archdiocesan response to the United
States Conference of Catholic Bishop’s Charter for the Protection ofChildren and Young People.
It consists of several parts including:
- Various policies covering relationships, communications, and
obligations of archdiocesan clergy, employees, and qualifying
- The office of Victim Assistance Coordinator.
- Certification (training and background evaluations) for archdiocesan
clergy, employees, and qualifying volunteers.
- Appropriate education for all children and youth of the archdiocese.
