  • Our Elementary (K-6) School Offers a Rigorous Academic Program

St. Francis School is a K-12 AdvancED Accredited Catholic School.  We are a Parish supported school within the Archdiocese of Omaha.  Our average class size is 15 students per grade; one track per grade level.

We are located in Humphrey, Nebraska along Highway 81 between Norfolk and Columbus.  The community of Humphrey is in Platte County and is surrounded by farmland and agribusinesses.

St. Francis School follows the Archdiocesan curriculum standards in all the major subjects.  These standards either meet or exceed the Nebraska State Standards.  Technology is infused in our classes.  iPads, Chromebooks, Mimio Smart Boards, and mobile labs are tools used in instruction.

Elementary (K-6)

We offer a rigorous academic program including Guided Reading, Saxon Math, VoWac phonics and Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and AR.  In addition to these, elementary students participate in Specials including PE, Music, Computer, Spanish, Art, Guidance, and Library.  While academics are important, the frequent reception of the Holy Eucharist is vital to our mission.  Student Masses are offered twice a week during the school day where students participate in the Mass ministries.

Junior High (grades 7-8)

At the JH level, students are on a traditional 8-period day.  Students have the opportunity to participate in Student Council.  With sports practice held outside the school day students have opportunities to participate in multiple activities in one season.

High School (grades 9-12)

High School students are on a modified block schedule.  Many of the required classes are presented in a block schedule (96 minutes per day) while some elective classes are offered as skinnies (48-minute periods).  There are opportunities during a student’s junior and senior year to enroll in the Agricultural classes offered by the public school
